I have worked with all website platforms out there, and I have found that Squarespace and Showit are the absolute easiest for my clients to manage after a website project is finished and launched. 

They are simple to use, robust platforms that have lots of flexibility behind-the-scenes for custom development.

I can provide you with a design for another platform, but not development. I am an expert at Squarespace and Showit, and therefore only provide development for these platforms.

Let me know when you inquire, if you want your website on another platform and that I will be providing the design only. You will need to find another developer to complete your website on any other platform.

If you pay your deposit to secure your spot but fail to complete your project homework or aren’t ready with your content, your project will be moved to the next available slot. To reschedule, a 50% rescheduling fee will apply to book your project back in.

Unless you let me know in good time that you want to pause your project (because life happens). See details regarding this on your contract.

Yes please! - with your website copy and photography in hand, I’ll be able to design a website that not only represents your style, but also puts the focus on your core brand messaging so that your website grabs your ideal client’s attention with a creative combination of copy and design.

If you don’t already have website copy or photography, I’d recommend booking your project in for when you have it ready.

I can help you source suitable stock imagery as an add on, and I work with Fionla of FinolaWrites, an absolute word-smith genius if you would like copy support too.

No. You need to have your brand identity/ branding in place before we start a custom website project. If you don’t have branding in place yet (logo, colours & typography) a custom brand identity is a great option.

My design and development process is thoughtfully structured to include your input at key stages. Your feedback is not only welcome, but essential at key stages to ensuring you end up with a website you genuinely love.

Website hosting is the service that allows your website to be published on the internet, think of it as the “land” your website lives on. Squarespace or Showit will be your website host, providing the tools and services needed for your site to be visible online.

To launch your site, you’ll need to purchase a hosting plan through Squarespace or Showit. But don’t worry, we’ll go over everything together before your website goes live, including when you need to get an account and purchase your plan!

Nor hosting fees or domain fees are included in my fee.

No, hosting is not included. You’ll need to purchase a Squarespace or Showit hosting plan separately. We’ll go through this process together when you’re ready to launch your site.

You’ll also need to purchase your own domain name. You’ll need to grant me access to your domain account so I can connect it properly. I recommend GoDaddy or Infomaniak as  affordable, reliable providers that integrate well with Squarespace and Showit.

Domains can be purchased directly in Squarespace, for Squarespace websites.

Please note that NathMakesThings is not responsible for server downtime, software issues, or any compatibility problems that may arise from your hosting or domain provider after the site has launched.

No worries, if you have previously hosted a website elsewhere, I will take care of transferring your hosting for you to Squarespace or Showit.

No, I focus solely on the design of your website: the overall look, feel, and visual experience, as well as development and any other technical set-ups.  However, I collaborate closely with an amazing copywriter, FinolaWrites, who can handle your entire website copy if you need support in that area.

Finola has her own process and will work with you to craft strategic, compelling content that reflects your unique message. If you'd like to include copywriting in your package, just let me know and I’ll be happy to coordinate it for you.

No, but I can help you source stock imagery as an add on.

All of my website packages include on-page SEO to help optimize your site to the best of my ability. However, writing specifically for SEO is not included and is best handled by a professional copywriter.

If you need more advanced, targeted, or ongoing SEO services, I recommend working with an SEO specialist FinolaWrites who can provide expert support tailored to your goals.

It’s sometimes possible, but it depends on my current schedule, and your needs. Each project timeline is thoughtfully planned to allow time for research, drafts, and refinement rounds. In some cases, a quicker turnaround may be possible if my availability allows. If you require a rush project, please let me know when you inquire about your project. I’ll provide a custom quote based on your timeline and project requirements. A rush fee may apply, depending on the deadline and complexity.

A 75 mon live training session is included with your custom website, where we meet on Zoom or Google Meet and I show you how to edit and update your website. You also get 3 weeks of email support to ensure you feel confident managing your website.

While Squarespace and Showit are both robust and versatile platforms, it’s not always the best fit for every project. Currently, Squarespace isn't designed to support:

• Large-scale or complex eCommerce stores ( I recommend Shopify here)

• Advanced inventory management systems or point-of-sale (POS) integrations (Shopify again)

The timeline is dependent on the complexity of your website, including how much custom development is needed and how many pages you need. An exact timeline will be provided for you before we commence.

If, for any reason, you're still not satisfied after two rounds of refinement, additional changes can be made at my current hourly rate.

We begin with a thorough questionnaire and briefing process to ensure we’re aligned from the start, so in 99.5% of cases, two rounds of refinement are more than enough!

I’m open to offering payment plans on a case-by-case basis. Otherwise, my standard payment structure is split into two installments: a non-refundable 50% deposit due before the project begins, and the remaining 50% due either on the project’s completion date or the agreed end date, whichever comes first.

Yes, unless you’re purchasing a template - you can download that immediately after purchase.
I recommend reaching out as soon as you begin considering a designer, well ahead of your deadline, to ensure availability and adequate time for completion of your project.

No, the initial deposit is part of your total payment and serves to secure your spot. Once I book you in, I commit that time to your project and turn away other inquiries for that slot. I schedule projects with sufficient time for my clients to prepare and to ensure each one receives the time it deserves for the best results. If you back out, it leaves an empty space that could have gone to another client. The deposit confirms that clients are committed to moving forward with their projects.
